The Global Conference on Aquaculture is one of the top international fishery academic conferences sponsored by the World Council of Fisheries Societies, held every 4 years. The theme of this year's conference is “Sharing our oceans and rivers-A vision for the world’s fisheries from the perspective of the world’s fisheries.”
Researcher Yang Jian made the oral report “Multi element/stable Isotope and geometric morphometric profiles of Chinese mitten crab Eriocheir sinensis from different geographical origins” on the second topic “Fish and aquatic ecosystems (biodiversity, conservation, ecosystem function, integrated management”). He exchanged his team’s research breakthroughs in the development of quality evaluation, effective tracing, screening methods and origin protection of Chinese mitten crabs from different origins by using multi-mineral element/stable isotope analytical chemistry and geometric morphometry technology.
The Global Conference on Aquaculture is initiated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and is a top aquaculture academic conference held every ten years. This is the first time the conference has been held in China, and its theme is “Aquaculture for food and sustainable development”. The poster “Study on elemental and morphological differences between originated and ‘bathed’ cultured Eriocheir sinensis in the Yangcheng Lake” submitted by Xue Junren, a PhD student from Wuxi Fisheries College of Nanjing Agricultural University, was successfully selected and exchanged on the conference site and on the official website.
