In 2021, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences wcarried out the first nationwide survey of aquaculture germplasm resources. FFRC undertook the task of systematic survey of freshwater aquaculture germplasm resources in 6 provinces and 1 city in East China, and was responsible for the nationwide germplasm survey of 6 conventional aquaculture species and 28 local characteristic aquatic species.
Freshwater aquaculture in East China plays an important role in the country and is also the key area of this survey.
Up to now, the survey team of FFRC has completed more than 80% of the annual systematic survey and census work target, and it is expected that all survey work will be completed by mid-November, laying a solid foundation for further development of national aquatic germplasm innovation.
