Recently, FFRC is responsible for leading the construction of the “Science and Innovation China” “Belt & Road” International Freshwater Fisheries Industry Science and Technology Innovation Institute. This work is one of the important contents of the “Belt & Road” international science and technology organization cooperation platform construction launched by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, which aims to cooperate with the implementation of the national “Belt & Road” initiative and promote in-depth cooperation with countries along the “Belt & Road.
During the “13th Five-Year Plan” period, FFRC has won and undertaken the international cooperative research and exchange projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Seventh Framework of the European Union, the Perot Foundation, the International Science Foundation, FAO and the World Fisheries Center, etc., and continuously improve its own research level and technological innovation ability. In the past five years, FFRC has undertaken 85 foreign aid training projects, and trained more than 3,280 senior fishery technical and management officials for countries in Asia, South Pacific, South America and Africa, with training languages covering English, French, Russian, Korean, Cambodian, Arabic, Portuguese, etc.
