On December 11, 2021, with the title of “Teaching a Man to Fish and Share Development", “Farmer’s Daily” highlighted FFRC's continued contribution to the sustainable development of global fisheries by sharing China's aquaculture experience through foreign-aid technical assistance.
It is mentioned in the report that since 1981, FFRC has trained more than 10,000 fishery technical and management personnel for 134 countries and regions, which has played a great role in deepening exchanges between Chinese and foreign fishery counterparts, building bridges for practical cooperation, helping China's fishery industry “go global”, and enriching the circle of overseas friends. In 2021, FFRC actively overcame the negative impact of the COVID-19. Under the guidance and support of the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, FFRC continued to implement national foreign aid human resources cooperation programs through the online foreign aid approach. It has successfully completed 10 online training projects, enrolling a total of 747 participants from 41 countries to participate in online training and exchanges, which has been highly evaluated by domestic and foreign counterparts and effectively promoted the green and sustainable development of the global fishery industry.
