On December 13, with the strong support and guidance of the China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges of the Ministry of Commerce and the Yangtze River Fisheries Administration, MARA, the “Workshop on Tilapia Culture Technology for African Countries” and “Seminar on Aquatic Resources Conservation and Green Aquaculture for Lancang-Mekong Countries” was successfully started.

Director Xu Pao briefly introduced the achievements of FFRC in scientific research, technology promotion, international cooperation and other fields in recent years to the African participants. He said that FFRC has integrated a unique technology demonstration and exchange training system by using the power of multiple platforms, which is more suitable for the national conditions of African countries. When introducing FFRC’s “Lancang-Mekong Cooperation” to the participants from Lancang-Mekong countries, Director Xu Pao said that over the past 40 years, FFRC has trained more than 680 senior fishery technical and management officials for five Lancang-Mekong countries.

The two workshops each lasted 5 days and attracted a total of 86 participants from Lancang-Mekong countries, other NACA member countries, 25 countries in Africa and South America.
