From January 4 to 5, the National Research and Development Center of the National Characteristic Freshwater Fish Industry Technology System organized the 2021 annual summing-up online meeting. The chief scientist of the system, Yang Hong, presided over the meeting, and all the post scientists and experimental station directors participated in the meeting.

Chief Scientist Yang Hong reported on the progress of the work in 2021. He said that in 2021, the system has cultivated new aquatic varieties such as mandarin fish and trout, actively served the national agricultural seed industry strategy, established alternative technologies for domestic protein source, ensured the safety of the feed industry supply chain, and integrated the system’s strength, took the initiative to connect with Guichi District of Chizhou, Anhui Province and Dongpo District of Meishan, Sichuan Province, carried out work to serve the economic development of the county, and helped the enterprises to improve their brand building capabilities.

The system implementation expert group organized and completed the annual evaluation of the functional research office directors, post scientists and experimental station directors. All the participating experts also conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges on various industrial chains and varieties of characteristic freshwater fish, discussed and determined how to carry out the next step of work of the system in 2022 in the face of national needs and industrial needs.
