On September 7, Researcher Liu Bo, Chief of Dept. of Fishery Veterinary & Feed Nutrition Feed, Freshwater Shrimp Nutrition and Feed Post Scientist of National Shrimp and Crab Industry Technology System, Post Scientist of Nutrition and Feed Innovation Team of Jiangsu Freshwater Prawn Industry Technology System, Associate researcher Jiang Sufei, Post Scientist of the Germplasm Resources and Breeding Innovation Team of Jiangsu Freshwater Prawn Industry Technology System, went to Deqing County, Zhejiang Province for the training on production technology for farmers.

At the training, Researcher Liu Bo gave a technical lecture on the R&D and application demonstration of special compound feed for freshwater prawn “Taihu No. 2”.

During the training, Associate Researcher Zhou Qunlan of FFRC conducted on-site water quality testing and pathogen analysis of sick shrimps from farmers, and asked the farmers about their recent feeding and medication records, and gave comments and suggestions on subsequent pond management.

After the meeting, Researcher Liu Bo and Associate Researcher Jiang Sufei also went to the local freshwater prawn pond to check the water and grass conditions, sample the cultured freshwater prawns, and recommended that the farmers use special compound feed and fermented feed to strengthen feeding, so as to ensure the high and stable production of freshwater prawn, and increase the proportion of big prawn.
