In April, due to the current round of epidemic prevention and control requirements, the Nanquan Base Campus of FFRC and Wuxi Fisheries College of Nanjing Agricultural University needed to implement closed-off management.
In the first moment of receiving the notice of closed management, the Party Committee of FFRC immediately established a vanguard team to prevent and control the epidemic in the school. Director Xu Pao took the initiative to act as the “team leader”, other Party members applied to join the team stationed at the school 24 hours a day.
In order to alleviate the worries of supervisors and the anxiety of students, Director Xu Pao wrote a “Letter to Supervisors during the epidemic”. At the same time, the center organized teachers inside and outside the school to take students to hospitals under the premise of minimizing contact, undertook tasks such as mobile phone maintenance, material operation, and personal item purchase, set up a psychological counseling team and open a 24-hour “psychological consultation” hotline to help students relieve psychological pressure. In addition, seasonal fruits are distributed free of charge to students every week to relieve spring dryness.
The student volunteers, led by the student Party members, innovated their ideas and opened up a variety of life “posts” to help others and enrich themselves spiritually at the same time. They bring a cup of warm tea to students who are busy on campus. They help other students to do the haircuts. The counselors and class cadres organized a “tea party”. The fitness masters led students to take exercises. The closed campus virtually eliminated the “gap” between students, and mutual help made students feel stable and happy under the epidemic.
We believe that with the efforts of all the faculty and staff, Wuxi Fisheries College will be able to pass every extraordinary day safely and move to its new journey of development.
