FFRC held the First National Aquatic Bio-Feed Summit Forum – “Baojie Summit”

August 28-30, hosted by Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, National Conventional Freshwater Fish Industry Technology System, National Shrimp and Crab Industry Technology System, and Freshwater Shrimp Industry Technology System of Jiangsu Province, organized by Aquatic Animal Nutrition and Health of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, “Baojie Summit - The First National Aquatic Bio-Feed Summit Forum” was successfully held in Wuxi, Jiangsu. Academician Mai Kangsen of Ocean University of China, Vice President Liu Yingjie of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, and Director Xu Pao of Freshwater Fisheries Research Center (FFRC), attended the opening ceremony of the forum. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ge Xianping, Secretary of the Party Committee of FFRC.

With the theme of “innovation, green, openness and sharing”, the forum invited 14 experts from universities and research institutes, including Academician Mai Kangsen, Professor He Jianguo, Researcher Xu Pao, Researcher Ge Xianping, Researcher Xie Shouqi, Deputy Director Ding Jian, Professor Chen Liqiao, Professor Zhou Xiaoqiu, Professor Ye Yuantu, Professor Liu Wenbin, Professor Zhou Qicun, Researcher Zhou Zhigang, Professor Leng Xiangjun, Professor Yang Hailin, as well as 5 representatives of the enterprise, including Researcher He Yijin, Dr. Cheng Kaimin, Dr. Mi Haifeng, Dr. Luo Zuoyong, and Dr. Su Yongteng, made the conference report. The report covers the development status and prospects of functional feeds, application, cost reduction and efficiency enhancement of new protein sources, research and development of anti-antibiotic plant extracts, intestinal health and quality regulation of functional additives, development of probiotics and fermentation engineering technology, and management of feed and feed additive access and microbial safety evaluation, etc. The presentations focused on the development and application of aquatic animal bio-feed, the hotspots and difficulties of scientific and technological innovation, and the latest research results. The forum attracted more than 450 representatives from 21 universities, 32 scientific research institutions and 62 enterprises.

In the interactive session of the Summit Forum, Professor Ye Yuantu, Vice President Zhang Lu, Professor Liu Wenbin, President Fan Shoujun, Chairman Zou Guozhong, and General Manager Qian Yulin discussed on hot topics such as how to improve the quality and efficiency of feed ingredients in the aquatic feed industry under the background of the epidemic, strategies to deal with the whole industry chain of aquaculture, the dilemma and development prospects of bio-functional feeds.

The Baojie Summit was especially broadcast live online, with the highest number of people online on the Scientific Fish Farming live broadcast platform reaching 89,000, building an effective innovative scientific research platform, interactive communication platform and industry-university-research cooperation platform for scientific research institutes and enterprises.
