Jiang Kaiyong, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Fishery Administration of MARA, Visited Yangzhong Base of FFRC

On September 8, Jiang Kaiyong, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Fishery Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, led a group to visit Yangzhong Base of FFRC. Ge Xianping, Secretary of the Party Committee of FFRC, warmly welcomed the group led by Deputy Director Jiang Kaiyong. Lu Quan, Chief of the Dept. of Industry Development of the Bureau of Fishery Administration of MARA, Jiang Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Zhenjiang Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Wang Shaohua, Deputy Mayor of Yangzhong City, accompanied the investigation group.

Deputy Director Jiang Kaiyong visited the high-efficiency algae cultivation laboratory of Yangzhong Base, the pond recirculating aquaculture system, the pond engineering recirculating aquaculture system and the “crab-perch” polyculture site jointly built by FFRC-FAO-Netherlands. Nie Zhijuan, Deputy Chief of Aquaculture Division of FFRC, introduced the overall construction and operation of Yangzhong Base and made a report focusing on the research and development of supporting technologies and ecological aquaculture models in promoting the green and high-quality development of aquaculture.

Deputy Director Jiang Kaiyong fully affirmed the construction and operation of Yangzhong Base, the research and development and demonstration of green aquaculture technology and model, and said that Yangzhong Base, as a national modern agricultural science and technology demonstration base, can closely focus on industrial needs, selective breeding of new aquatic varieties, and promote the revitalization of the seed industry and the green and healthy farming, which have made positive contributions to promoting the in-depth integration of “industry, education, research, and extension”, helping rural revitalization, and promoting high-quality green development of fisheries.
