On December 9, the 2022 National Agricultural Foreign Aid Training Summary Meeting was held online, attended by Ni Hongxing, First-level Counsel of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Chen Runyun, Vice president of the Academy for International Business Officials(AIBO) of the Ministry of Commerce, Xu Ming, Deputy Director of the Center of International Cooperation Service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Meng Ran, Chief of the Department of Personnel of China International Development Cooperation Agency, and 67 representatives from 24 agricultural foreign training management institutions and organizers across the country attended the meeting. Xu Pao, Director General of the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center, Zhu Jian, Member of the Party Committee and Chief of the Dept. of Research, Jing Xiaojun, Chief of the Dept. of International Cooperation and Education, and all members of the Dept. of International Cooperation and Education attended the meeting.
At the meeting, FFRC made a typical speech as one of the four outstanding organizers in this year. Chief Jing Xiaojun shared the main practices and achievements of FFRC’s foreign aid training in the past two years on six aspects, including building a new team, using a new model, cultivating new momentum, building new cooperation, cultivating new friendship, and demonstrating new strength. In the past two years, FFRC has successively undertaken 26 international short-term training programs and 4 foreign aid academic education programs, trained a total of 1,451 technical and management officials from 58 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, trained 85 MsC students, and enrolled more than 55 participants in each program, covering 102 foreign fishery management departments, research, education, extension institutions and private enterprises, etc.. The project implementation rate reached 100%, FFRC has successfully completed the tasks assigned by the higher authorities. FFRC’s foreign aid programs have been reported in national media such as People’s Daily, Farmer’s Daily, and China Daily for many times, and three foreign aid technology application achievements have been selected as “Good Practices in South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development” by the United Nations South-South Office.
The continuous implementation of FFRC’s online training programs supports the rapid recovery of the world’s aquaculture industry with practical actions such as knowledge sharing and technology transfer, and effectively promotes the green and sustainable development of the world’s aquaculture industry.
