On April 4, Professor Xu Zhihong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and former president of Peking University, Professor Wan Jianmin, member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited Freshwater Fisheries Research Center for research and guidance, and Xu Pao, Director General of FFRC, warmly welcomed Academician Xu Zhihong and Academician Wan Jianmin.
At the meeting, Director Xu Pao introduced in detail the development of FFRC in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, industrial support, talent training, achievement transfer and technology extension in recent years, and made a detailed report on the Center’s work on common carp, crucian carp, California perch, Chinese mitten crab, freshwater shrimp, tilapia and other key varieties in biological breeding, seed industry innovation, and service to rural revitalization.
Academician Xu Zhihong and Academician Wan Jianmin fully affirmed the Center’s achievements in adhering to the “four orientations”, fighting for the vitalization of aquatic seed industry, strengthening the construction of scientific and technological innovation teams, and helping to build a “community with a shared future for mankind”. They also provided guidance on how to expand the “chip” of the aquatic seed industry and promote the high-quality development of the green and low-carbon fishery industry.
During the visit, Academician Xu Zhihong and Academician Wan Jianmin also visited FFRC’s exhibition room and other facilities.
