From May 20 to 21, Zijin Mountain Tech Forum of the 3rd Jiangsu Development Summit was held in Nanjing International Expo Center. XIN Changxing, Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, attended the forum. The opening ceremony was presided over by XU Kunlin, Deputy Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Governor of Jiangsu Province. Prof. Dong Zaijie of FFRC was invited to attend the summit.
In Zhenjiang, Prof. DONG Zaijie demonstrated his unique insights about the way to strengthen the production and supply of aquatic products from the perspective of implementing all-encompassing approach to food. He mentioned that China has already entered a new era, the living standard of people has been increasing, the need of nutrition becomes diversified, comprehensive and balanced, and aquatic products is an important source of high-quality protein. Jiangsu is the unique province with great rivers and lakes. We should make full use of the gifts of nature, request food from rivers and lakes, properly develop marine and freshwater varieties which are suitable for cultivation, and strive to build Jiangsu Province into a land of fish and rice in the new era with powerful agriculture, beautiful countryside and rich farmers.
The theme of the summit is Love Jiangsu and jointly build a dream. About 350 guest from all over the world gathered together, and carried out all-round, multi-dimensional and in-depth exchanges around scientific and technological innovation. All the guests shared their ideas and suggestions, in order to contribute their intelligence to the high-quality development of Jiangsu.
