On the afternoon of September 7, Xu Gangchun, Deputy Director General of FFRC, led a team to China International Development Cooperation Agency to exchange views on the feasibility study of two aquaculture fish seed centers in Senegal. Zhang Lihua, Deputy Director General of the Dept. of Policy and Planning of the CIDCA, warmly welcomed DDG Xu Gangchun.

During the discussion, Deputy Director General Zhang Lihua affirmed the achievements of FFRC and the expert group after listening to the report on the implementation of the feasibility study project in Senegal. He hoped that FFRC would continue to maintain close communication with Senegal to ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of the project.

Deputy Director Xu Gangchun reported that with the strong support and guidance of China International Development Cooperation Agency, FFRC was approved as the China-Africa Joint Center for Modern Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training in 2021. Till now, FFRC has trained more than 50 fishery officials and technicians for Senegal, and established a wide “circle of friends”. He said that FFRC will work with the National Aquaculture Agency of Senegal to do a good job in project planning and design, build the project into a core demonstration field of aquatic seed industry in West Africa.
