Researcher Ge Xianping Accompanied President Wang Xiaohu to Yongji to Carry out Industrial Research

On September 12, President Wang Xiaohu, Vice President Lin Xiangming of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, Ge Xianping, Chief Scientist of the National Conventional Freshwater Fish Industry Technology System and Secretary of the Party Committee of FFRC, Director Li Qiang of the Discipline and Platform Division of the CAFS, and Director Li Yingren of the Resource and Environment Research Center, went to Yongji City, Shanxi Province to conduct research and on-site guidance on the protection and utilization of germplasm resources in the Yellow River Basin.

President Wang Xiaohu conducted field research on the provincial aquatic seed farm and the digital breeding base of aquatic seed industry in Yongji City. During the period, Researcher Ge Xianping reported to President Wang Xiaohu the relevant work of FFRC in the protection and utilization of germplasm resources in the Yellow River Basin, focusing on the promotion and application of FFRC strain common carp and Jian Carp No. 2 in Shanxi. President Wang Xiaohu fully affirmed the achievements of FFRC in serving the development of local industries, and said that it is necessary to deeply understand the importance of ensuring the breeding and supply of major aquatic products in the Yellow River to industrial development, actively do a good job in the collection and investigation of germplasm resources in fine seed farms, and further utilize and protect the unique rare aquatic germplasm resources in the Yellow River.

The investigation group visited the digital nursery breeding park of Yongji Haijingzhou Fishery Technology Co., Ltd., for better understand the fish breeding mode of California sea bass, tilapia and other fish species, the current seed breeding, market conditions, industrial scale and other conditions of the park, and put forward relevant suggestions on the problems existing in the park, such as the culture mode and wastewater treatment.
