On October 25, the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) “Building Bridges for Sustainable Development: IFAD-Private Sector South-South & Triangular Cooperation” was held at the United Nations Building in Beijing. Li Hongxia, Associate Researcher of the Dept. of Bio-Technology of the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, and Zhang Lin, Deputy Chief of the Division of Technical Extension & Dissemination, were invited to attend the meeting.
At the meeting, Ms. Wang Wei, Director General of the Bureau of South-South Cooperation of IFAD, introduced the basic situation, main work and phased achievements of the China-IFAD South-South & Tripartite Cooperation Special Fund. Subsequently, Associate Researcher Li Hongxia introduced the experience and representative scientific research achievements of FFRC in participating in South-South & Tripartite Cooperation, and expressed the willingness and initial vision of FFRC to strengthen the synergistic cooperation with IFAD and other partners.
It is reported that as one of the “2023 United Nations Day - International Fund for Agricultural Development South-South Cooperation Series Activities”, this conference aims to share the experience of China’s private sector in implementing foreign cooperation projects, build a cooperation platform between the Chinese government, the private sector and research institutions, and further enhance the effectiveness of cooperation.
