Director General Xu Pao Attended the 2024 Huaihe River Spring Fishing Ban Joint Enforcement Action

On March 1, the Huaihe River, Pearl River, Min River, Qiantang River Basin and Hainan inland waters began to enter a four-month spring fishing ban season, Yangtze River Fisheries Administration, MARA started the spring fishing ban joint enforcement action in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province.

Yi Yanrong, Deputy Director of the Yangtze River Fisheries Administration, MARA, stressed that fishery administration and law enforcement agencies at all levels along the Huaihe River should strengthen the law enforcement and supervision of the fishing ban, improve the duty system, and strengthen the joint logistics linkage mechanism of the upstream and downstream, left and right banks, and main stream and tributaries, so as to ensure that the fishing ban is effectively implemented. At the same time, it is necessary to intensify the popularization and implementation of the law, carry out all-round, multi-level and three-dimensional publicity activities on fishery laws and regulations and fishing ban policies, effectively enhance the publics awareness and support for fishery administration and law enforcement, and ensure that the spring fishing ban has achieved solid results.

According to the relevant regulations, from 00:00 on March 1 to 24:00 on June 30, 2024, the main stream of the Huaihe River will enter the spring fishing ban season, and all fishing operations will be completely banned. The implementation of the fishing ban season system in natural waters is conducive to the protection and breeding of brooder and juvenile fish, the restoration of fishery resources, and the promotion of green and sustainable development of fisheries, which is an important measure to maintain aquatic biodiversity and promote the construction of ecological civilization.
