From March 20 to 22, the “7th East China Aquatic Animal Nutrition and Feed Science & Technology Forum” jointly organized by Shanghai Ocean University and other units was held in Shanghai. Researcher Ge Xianping, Researcher Liu Bo, Dr. Zheng Xiaochuan, Dr. Lin Yan and 6 graduate students from the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center attended the forum.

Researcher Ge Xianping attended the forum as a special guest, and put forward suggestions on the outstanding problems faced by the current development of aquafeed industry and the key directions of future research on the nutrition of conventional freshwater fish. Prof. Liu Bo was invited to give a report entitled “Creation and Application of Freshwater Shrimp Functional Feed with Low Fishmeal”, which showed the changes in the freshwater shrimp feed industry under the new situation, the technical integration around functional feed, and related research and practical application cases.

The forum set up a graduate student sub-forum, and Xu Xiaodi, a doctoral student of FFRC, and Liu Xin, a doctoral student of FFRC, both won the second prize of the graduate student report.

The forum attracted more than 400 professors, scholars and industry personnel from universities, scientific research institutes and aquatic related enterprises across the country, which strongly promoted the development of aquatic nutrition research and aquatic feed industry in East China.
