From October 22-23, the International Conference on Fisheries Standardization and the 17th Plenary Meeting of ISO/TC 234-Fisheries and Aquaculture was held at the headquarters of Zhongyang Group. Otto Gregerson, Chairman of the ISO/TC234 Committee, Heidi Mlarie Nore, Committee Manager, Qian Xiaoming, Chairman of Zhongyang Group, and Gao Zhigang, Chairman of Dongtai Cibainian Bioengineering Co., Ltd., attended the meeting. Deputy Director General Ren Mingchun, , Dr. Qiang Jun and Dr. Li Hongxia of FFRC were invited to attend the meeting.
The theme of this conference was “Green and Low-carbon for High-quality Development of International Fisheries”. At the meeting, DDG Ren Mingchun briefly introduced the scientific research achievements, international cooperation achievements and future development vision of FFRC. He said that the holding of this conference is of great significance for China to deepen international exchanges and cooperation in the field of standardization and enhance the recognition and trust of the international community in China’s standardization work. FFRC is willing to learn from each other and cooperate sincerely with colleagues from all over the world to jointly promote the orderly development of international standardization.
President Otto Gregerson and Manager Heidi Mlarie Nore congratulated on the convening of the conference and presented the strategy of ISO in the global context, the work carried out by the TC234 Technical Committee on Fisheries and Aquaculture and the corresponding achievements.
During this meeting, Dr. Li Hongxia presided over the third meeting of ISO/TC234/WG12 and the first meeting of ISO/TC234/WG13, and participated in the 17th Plenary Meeting of ISO/TC 234 as the head of the Chinese delegation.
This conference is the first offline meeting held by ISO/TC234 since 2018, and it is also the first annual meeting organized by China, which not only builds an important platform for international exchanges and cooperation in the field of fishery standardization, but also helps to promote the process of international fishery and aquaculture standardization and strengthen the international community's recognition of China’s standardization work.
