Director General Xu Pao participated in the first "Yangtze Finless Porpoise Protection Day"

      On October 24, hosted by the Yangtze RiverFinless Porpoise Rescue Alliance, the National Aquatic Wildlife Conservation Branch (NAWCA), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Alxa SEE Foundation, the Yangtze River Ecology Conservation Foundation, Wuhan LipotesVexillifer Conservation Foundation ( WBCF), Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Freshwater Fisheries Research Center, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences(FFRC), and other units, the first "Yangtze River Finless Porpoise Protection Day" was launched in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Xu Pao, DG of the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center, led the team to participate in the event.

      At the launching ceremony, Xu Pao, together with 10 senior experts on ecological protection in the Yangtze River and leaders of non-profit organizations, participated in the "Yangtze River Finless Porpoise Conservation and Development" summit forum and made the report with title of "Conservation of Yangtze River Fishery Resources and Yangtze River Finless Porpoise Protection".

       After the summit, Xu Pao, on behalf of FFRC, signed the "Yangtze River Finless Porpoise Protection Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement" with the Yangzhou City Ecology Management Committee and the School of Animal Science and Technology of Yangzhou University, in order to give full play to Yangzhou's regional advantages. It will help strengthen the in-situ conservation of Yangtze finless porpoises in the Yangzhou section of the Yangtze River, and promote research on Yangtze finless porpoise protection in Yangzhou City.

      The first "Yangtze Finless Porpoise Protection Day" attracted more than 300 people from government agencies, scientific research institutions, enterprises, domestic and foreign public welfare organizations, university student volunteer representatives, news media, etc. who were concerned about the protection of the Yangtze Finless Porpoise.
