Wuxi Fisheries College won great achievements in the First National Aquatic SkillsCompetition for College Students

        From November 22 to 24, the First National Aquatic Skills Competition for College Students, sponsored by the Steering Committee for Aquatic Education of the Ministry of Education and the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Aquatic Science, organized by Guangdong Ocean University and co organized by Guangdong Hengxing Feed Industry Co., Ltd., was held in Huguang campus of Guangdong Ocean University. Professor Liu Bo from Wuxi Fisheries College of Nanjing Agricultural University led the team. Four students including Wang Xiaohao, Wang Xingyan, Wen Hong and Yuan Yuzhe participated in the skills competition and achieved good results.

        With the theme of "compete skills, show style", this skill competition has attracted nearly 300 competitors from 54 colleges and universities across the country to compete on the same stage, displaying the practical skills and professional comprehensive quality of aquatic students in colleges and universities in China. During the two-day competition, the competitors competed fiercely in six events: fish anatomy and classification identification, plankton species identification, dissolved oxygen detection in cultured water body, feed raw material identification and formulation, routine inspection of diseased fish and identificationof fish disease, blood lymph extraction, anatomy and classification of shrimps and crabs.

      In the competition, the teamof Wuxi Fisheries College performed well. Wen Hong won the first prize of the "Routine Inspection and Identification of Fish Diseases " project; Wang Xiaohao won the first prize of the "Determination of Dissolved Oxygen in CulturedWater Body" project; Wang Xingyan won the first prize for the project of "Feed Raw Material Identification and Formulation"; Yuan Yuzhe won the second prize of the "Plankton Species Identification" project.
