On the morning of January 10th, 2020, the 2019 National Science and Technology Award was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The achievements of the "Innovation and Application of Nutritional Technology of Grass Carp Healthy Aquaculture" completed by the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center (FFRC) of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences won the second prize of the 2019 National Science and Technology Progress Award. This is the 11th National Science and Technology Award won by FFRC. As an important finisher of the achievement, Prof. Ge Xianping, DDG of FFRC, was awarded the Individual certificate of achievement award, which is also the second time he has won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
The “Innovation and Application of Nutritional Technology of Grass Carp Healthy Aquaculture” project aims at the industrial difficulties of high incidence rate and reduced meat quality in grass carp farming in China. Technical research and application have achieved a series of innovative achievements, including 1 national new feed additive product certificate; published a series of high-level research papers, formulated national, industrial and enterprise standards, authorized more than 30 patents, and obtained more than 30 organic, pollution-free fish and origin certification certificates. The research results have been promoted and applied in enterprises in 16 provinces and cities across the country, creating significant economic, social and ecological benefits.
