From November 18th to 22nd, commissioned by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative RegionGovernment, Freshwater Fisheries Research Center (FFRC) organized the “Training Courseon Chinese Mitten Crab Breeding Technology and Inspection for Hong Kong”. Prof. Xu Pao, director of FFRC, Prof. Wan Yibing, deputy director of FFRC, Li Jianming, assistant director of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Zhu Zhenhua, seniorfishery director, Li Meihua, fishery director, and Ma Cuiying, etc. participated in the relevant activities of the training course.
The training course lasted for 5 days, with a total of 40 participants from the Hong Kong SAR. The training content mainly includes “development of Chinesemitten crab industry and development of new species in China", "seed rearing and production technology of Chinese mitten crabs”, “green aquaculture technology and main culture models of Chinese mitten crab” and so on.
This training course has further enhanced the development and construction of human resources in Hong Kong’s aquatic industry, which will help Hong Kong to better understand the development of the Chinese mitten crab industry, the development of new species, seed production and breeding technologies, as well as green ecological aquaculture technologies,and enhance exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and the mainland in the field of fisheries.
