On June 24, Bureau of Science & Technology for Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences organized online and on-site experts in Nanjing to discuss the acceptance of the Twelfth Five-Year National Science and Technology Support Project in the Rural Areas "Research and Demonstration of Pond Aquaculture Water Purification and Restoration Technology(2015BAD13B03)" hosted by Prof. Bing Xuwen, Deputy Director of Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences.
The acceptance expert group is composed of 7 technical experts and 2 financial experts. Members include Prof. Gui Jianfang, Academician of the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Xu Hanxiang, Vice President of Zhejiang Ocean University, Prof. Wang Weimin, Fisheries College of Huazhong Agricultural University, Prof. Fei Zhiliang, Deputy Inspector ofDepartment of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province, Prof. Wang Guoxiang, Dean of Environment College, Nanjing Normal University,Prof. Chen Huangen, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Fisheries Technology Promotion Center, Prof. Zhang Shengyu, Investigator of Hongze Lake Fishery Management Committee, Gao Keming, Senior Accountant of Purple Mountain Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Xie Jun, Senior Accountant ofInstitute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Bing Xuwen, Prof. Chen Jiachang, Wang Hongming, Director of the Finance Department and members of the research team from FFRC participated in the acceptance meeting.
The project leader, Prof. Bing Xuwen made a special report on the completion of the objectives and tasks of the project, the implementation of the research tasks, the highlights of the main research work, and the implementation of the project funds. The project is based on core technologies such as pond water quality and sediment remediation, efficient and healthy aquaculture, and focuses on the efficient use of feed and fine feeding technology for pond aquaculture, the restoration of pond aquaculture environment, and the key technologies for the purification and restoration of pond aquaculture water quality, and evaluates the comprehensive benefits of water purification and restoration of typical pond culture models.
Through research, 4 water quality restoration technologies and models with regional characteristics of South China, Central China, East China, and Southwest China have been constructed; water quality purification and restoration technologies have been developed; 9 core demonstration sites have been established in Central China, East China, and Southwest China. The core demonstration area covers an area of 2382 mu and a technical radiation area of 65,700 mu. The output of the demonstration area has increased by 13.7%, the economic efficiency has increased by 17.5%, the aquaculture water saving is 20.8%, and major pollutants (N, P, CODMn) are reduced by 30.4%.
For the project, 40 papers have been published; 46 patents have been applied, including 27 invention patents and 19 authorized patents; 3 standards have been issued and 5 technical standards or procedures have been written; 3 books have been edited and 1 book has been co-edited; 1 new device and software copyright have been created. It has trained 1 doctor, 12 masters and more than 6000 fishing technicians.
The expert group listened to the report of the project, reviewed the acceptance materials provided by the research group. After inquiry and discussion, the expert group believed that since the approval of the project, the research and demonstration work has been carried out closely around the target task, and the specified research content and assessment index have been completed, so the project is agreed to pass the acceptance.
