Recently, affected by multiple rounds of heavy rainfall, the water level in the Yangtze River and Taihu Lake areas in Jiangsu continued to rise, and the flood control emergency response has been upgraded to Level II. The research and experiment bases of FFRC are mostly built close to the Yangtze River and Taihu Lake, so the flood control safety is facing great pressure. In order to do a good job in flood control of the base, ensure the safety of scientific research and production, and reduce the loss of flood, from July 18 to 20, Director Xu Pao and Deputy Secretary Wan Yibing went to Dapu, Qiting and other scientific research experiment bases to inspect flood control safety work.
In YixingDapu base and Qiting base, Director Xu Pao and his entourage inspected the pond and external water level of the base, basic drainage, and measures to prevent backflow in low-lying areas, and stressed that it is necessary to actively contact the village committee, take preventive measures, and actively carry out production and self-rescue while ensuring safety.
In Yangzhong base, Director Xu Pao and his entourage listened to the report on the flood control work of the base, and got a detailed understanding of the base's flood control preparations, pond water levels, gates, pumps and other equipments’operation situation. Director Xu Pao emphasized that even if it is the end of the "plum rain" season, we should pay attention on the flood prevention work.
In addition, Duan Jinrong, Director of Technology Transfer Division of FFRC, and Xu Sheng, Director of Logistics department, also went to Jingjiang experimental base and Nanquan experimental base to carry out flood control safety inspection and disaster damage investigation.
