As the undertaking unit of the Songhua Lake Fishery Resources and Environmental Investigation Project, FFRC organized an team to conduct a summer field investigation in Songhua Lake, Jilin Province from August 17 to 26.
According to the schedule of the project implementation plan, from 2020-2022, there will be two comprehensive investigation tasks per year. This field survey is the first summer investigation of the fishery resources and environment of Songhua Lake. A total of 12 fishery environmental stations and 8 fishery resources investigation stations have been set up. Water quality, food organisms, fish and other aquatic organisms have been collected to systematically evaluate current status of fishery resources and habitats, so as to support the scientific management and protection of fishery resources in Songhua Lake.
Songhua Lake Reservoir was built in 1942 to store water. It is located in the lake area of Jilin City, Jilin Province, covering an area of 500 square kilometers, with a maximum water storage capacity of 10.8 billion cubic meters. At present, Songhua Lake is in the transitional period of fishery development. The investigation of the fishery resources and environment of Songhua Lake can find out resources and environmental conditions and provide a scientific and technological basis for the protection and sustainable utilization of fishery resources of Songhua Lake.
This field investigation was supported by the Heilongjiang River Fisheries Research Institute and the cooperation of Jilin Songhua Lake Scenic Spot Management Committee, Jilin Songtou Ship Industry Co., Ltd. and Suerha Fish Farm.
