From September 9 to 11, the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (CAFS) held the "Field observation and investigation activity on the integrated rice-fish farming" in Honghe County, Yunnan Province. Deng Wei, deputy director of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, Wan Yibing,deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center, Leng Yun, deputy director of Yunnan Fisheries Science Research Institute,Li Rongchun, leader of Honghe County Village Poverty Alleviation Team, Yang Jinwan,Deputy Mayor of Honghe County Xiao Yanni, chairman ofHonghe Zhonghai Fishery Co., Ltd., main responsible person of the Dept. of Achievements Transformation, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences participated in the observation activitiy.

Deputy director Deng Wei and his entourage investigated the "Hani Terrace (Nimei) Winter Field Ecological Farming Demonstration Base", "Samaba Terrace Integrated Rice-fish Farmign and Demonstration Base of Baohua Town", "Postdoctoral Research Station of Freshwater Fisheries Research Center " and “Xu Gangchun Expert Workstation", watched the local farmers harvest rice and catch fish, and exchanged views on the continuous and in-depth promotion of the development of integrated rice-fish farming industry and scientific and technological support actions of rural revitalization ofthe CAFS.

Deputy Secretary Wan Yibing introduced the poverty alleviation work carried out by FFRC of the integrated rice-fishing farming in Hani terrace, the main results, and the next local rural revitalization plan. Deputy director Deng Wei fully affirmed the poverty alleviation work of the integrated rice-fish farming in Hani terrace ofHonghe County.

Since 2015, FFRC has implemented the deployment of scientific and technological poverty alleviation work of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences. It has carried out poverty alleviation work in the integrated rice-fishing farming industry in Honghe County, a national poverty-stricken county, and has established expert workstations, aquatic fine seed breeding bases and other platforms for research and demonstration and promotion of sometechnical models, such as "rice fish" and "rice loach" in Hani terrace. Honghe County has been lifted out of poverty in May of this year. In the next step, FFRC will continue to increase its scientific and technological support for Honghe County, so as to help the local people become rich,move towards a well-off society and revitalize the countryside.
