On September 16, a group of 6 people including Wang Shiping, inspector of Neijiang Science and Technology Bureau of Sichuan Province, Huang Yuecheng, director of Neijiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and others visited FFRC. Xu Pao, director of FFRC,warmly welcomedthis group.

Director Xu Pao extended a warm welcome to Inspector Wang Shiping and his group for visiting the center. He reviewed the history and achievements of the continuous deepening of fishery science and technology cooperation between FFRC and Neijiang City, and introduced the important scientific and technological achievements of the center in recent years, as well as outstanding results in personnel training, industrial support, higher education, and international cooperation. He said that the center will focus on the need for science and technology in the development of fishery industry in Neijiang City, give full play to the advantages of its platform, research team, and technology, increase scientific and technological support to help promote the green and high-quality development of Neijiang fishery. Inspector Wang Shiping introduced the technological innovation and talent development of Neijiang City, as well as the challenges offishery industry development, and expressed the hope that based on the advantages of Neijiang’s resources, relying on the national innovation platform and talent team of FFRC to enhance Neijiang’s fishery science and technology innovation capabilities and industrial development. Director Huang Yuecheng introduced the situation of Neijiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, especially the development of integrated rice-fish farming and special aquaculture supported by science and technology in recent years, and expressed the hope to continue to deepen scientific and technological cooperation with FFRC in fishery, and promote the innovation platform construction, project cooperation, talent training, and breeding of new aquatic varieties. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the selective breeding of new aquatic varieties, integrated rice-fish farming, and post-doctoral research workstations.

Director Xu Pao and Director Huang Yuecheng signed a scientific and technological cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides. According to the agreement, the two sides would cooperate to carry out research on the selective breeding of new aquatic varieties and the research on key technologies for the industrial production of high-quality seedlings, and jointly promote the rapid development of the Neijiang characteristic aquatic industry. In addition, FFRC would also cooperate with the Fishery Development Center of the ShizhongDistrict of Neijiang City to jointly build platforms such as post-doctoral scientific research workstations to provide scientific and technological support for the construction and development of fishery industrial park in the district.
