On October 13, Jiangsu Freshwater Shrimp Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance held its 2020 annual work conference in Yixing. Director Chen Yao of the Division of rural affairs, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Director Zhang Qiuping and Director Ye Xiangrong of the Department of Agricultural Cooperative, Wuxi Science and Technology Bureau, Researcher Xu Pao, director of the Alliance and Director of FFRC attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by researcher Fu Hongtuo, the vice chairman and secretary-general of the Alliance and director of the Dept. of Aquatic Genetics and Breeding of FFRC. More than 60 representatives from 26 units attended the meeting.

Director Xu Pao, on behalf of the Alliance’s chairman unit, FFRC, delivered a welcome speech. Director Zhang Qiuping, on behalf of the competent departments of the alliance, fully affirmed the work achieved by the Freshwater Shrimp Alliance, and hopes to continue to work hard in the future and make more contributions in food safety, biosafety, etc..

Researcher Fu Hongtuo, on behalf of the secretariat of the Alliance, reported on the work carried out and the results achieved since the start of theAlliance; the representatives of the Alliance member units adopted7 institutions such as Taizhou Agricultural Sciences Institute of Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Pukou District Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Station of Nanjing to join the Freshwater Shrimp Alliance; 26 representatives of member units of the Alliance successively exchanged their views, introduced their respective work, and jointly discussed the needs of the freshwater shrimp industry and the future work directions.

Director Chen Yao fully affirmed the series of achievements made by the Freshwater Shrimp Alliance in the cultivation of new species, independent solution of seed production, results, demonstration and extension and the important contribution of the aquaculture industry to the province’s rural revitalization. Director Xu Pao said that the opinions and suggestions of experts would be implemented in the future work of the Alliance. At the same time, he emphasized and deployed the key work of the next phase of the Alliance.
