On October 14, the 2020 working meeting of the Aquaculture Discipline Committee of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (CAFS) was held in Baiyangdian. Wei Qi, secretaryof the Party Committee of the CAFS, and Li Qiang, deputy chief of the Discipline and Platform Division of the CAFS, attended the meeting. Nearly 30 people includingGe Xianping, chairman of the Aquaculture Discipline Committee, secretary of the Party Committee of the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center (FFRC), CAFS, vice chairman researcher Liu Xingguo, researcher Xie Jun, and various members of the discipline committee attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by researcher Ge Xianping.

At the meeting, secretary Wei Qi fully affirmed the achievements of the Aquaculture Discipline Committee in planning and undertaking major projects, organizing innovative research, and carrying out academic exchange activities during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, and proposed requirements of the next step in the development of aquaculture discipline.

This meeting summarized the progress made by each station of aquaculture discipline during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, exchanged the work focus as well as development directions and ideasof the aquaculture discipline during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and discussed the "13th Five-Year" Development Report ofAquaculture Discipline. The participating members also investigated the progress of the ecological restoration project carried out by the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences in Baiyangdian.
