The design plan for the ecological reconstruction of aquaculture ponds compiled by FFRCpassed expert review

On October 19, the expert review meeting for the "Design Plan for the Ecological Reconstruction of Aquaculture Ponds in Modern Fishery Industrial Park of Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province" and "Design Plan for the Ecological Reconstruction of Aquaculture Ponds in Weishe Village, Xishan District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province" compiled by FFRC (hereinafter referred to as "Plan") was held in Ehu Town, Xishan District, Jiangsu Province. The entrusting unit, the People's Government of Ehu Town, Xishan District, Wuxi City, the undertaking unit FFRC, and the relevant officialsfrom the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Xishan District attended the review meeting.

At the review meeting, chiefDuanJinrong, Division of Technical Extension &dissemination gave a detailed report on the “Plan”, focusing on the current status of the aquaculture pond, general requirements, implementation, investment estimation, benefit analysis, and safeguard measures. Five experts from Jiangsu Fishery Technology Extension Center, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing Institute of Geography& Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jiangsu Freshwater Fisheries Research Institute, and Wuxi Aquatic and Livestock Technology Extension Station listened to the report and reviewed relevant text and drawings.

After questioning and discussion, experts believed that the "Plan" has sufficient basis, clear objectives, reasonable design of technological processes, and conforms to the requirements of the ecological reconstruction of ponds in Jiangsu Province; the "Plan" is based on the status quo, through measures such as pond repairing, purification area setting, and breeding arearoad reconstruction, intake and drainage systems optimization to achieve the goal of waste water recycling or meeting the discharge standard; the purification zone in the "Plan" is scientifically set up, with advanced technology, reasonable budgetary, feasible safeguards, and strong operability . The expert group unanimously agreed that the "Plan" passed the review, and suggested that the "Plan" should be further refined and implemented as soon as possible.
