On December 4, FFRC held a Party Committee theoretical study meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ge Xianping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Center, and members of the Center’s leadership team, Party Committee members and heads of the Party Office participated in the meeting.

The meeting conveyed the spirit of the fifth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the symposium on comprehensively advancing the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the spirit of the speech by Wei Qi, Secretary of the Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences at the Center’ Party member meeting, intensively study the " Implementation rules for the center group theoretical learning of units directly under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs." Director Xu Pao talked about his understanding and experience on “studying and implementing the spirit of the important speech of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee and General Secretary Xi Jinping, and accelerating the improvement of the comprehensive strength of scientific and technological innovation”; Secretary Ge Xianping talked about “learning and implementing the spirit of Secretary Wei Qi’s speech, promoting the deep integration of Party building and business, and better servicing the central work of science and technology innovation”; Deputy secretary Wan Yibing explained the "Implementation Rules"; Deputy director Bing Xuwen introduced the Party building work and the Party group theory of Liaoning Academy of Agricultural Sciences, where he was serving temporary position. The learning experience of the center group; Deputy directors Xu Gangchun, Hu Haiyan and the Party Committee member Zhu Jian made exchanges around the study content and in connection with the actual work.

The meeting emphasized that studying and implementing the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee is an important political task at present and in the future. It is necessary to plan the key tasks for the development of the center during the 14th Five-Year Plan; it is necessary to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech, to carry out in-depth research on the Yangtze finless porpoise conservation, research and monitoring of the Yangtze River fishery resources and environment, and to use science and technology to support the "Great Protection of the Yangtze River". It is necessary to implement the requirements of the Party Group deployment of the CAFS, always put political construction in the first place, comprehensively strengthen Party building, and promote technological innovation development, accelerate the improvement of the comprehensive strength of scientific and technological innovation, so as to make greater contributions to promoting technological innovation of fishery and accelerating the development of modern fishery.
