Wuxi Fisheries College organized the "2019 Master of Fisheries Program" international students to visit Yancheng

In order to promote a better combination of theoretical knowledge and specific practice, show the development achievements of China's modern fishery industry, and help build a platform for exchanges and cooperation, from December 5 to 7, Wuxi Fisheries College of Nanjing Agricultural University organized the "2019 Master of Fisheries Program" international students went to Yancheng, Jiangsu Province for a three-day professional investigation and study exchange.

The international students first visited the breeding base of Jiangsu Zhengyuan Chuanghui Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd. in Jianhu County, Yancheng City. Zhou Degang, deputy general manager of the company introduced the company’s development model and experience in the primary, secondary and tertiary industries, focusing on the production scale, breeding technology, processing system and development direction of the company’s main fields of aquaculture and fishery,processing industry and service industry.

Subsequently, the international students went to Guangming Fishery Co., Ltd. and Dafeng Oriental Oasis Ecological Fishery Park for investigation, and learned that Guangming Fishery Base, one of the largest aquaculture bases in the country, and Oriental Oasis, one of the largest parks in Yancheng, are responding to the impact of the COVID-19. They also listened to the introduction of pond ecological healthy aquaculture mode and technology, intelligent fishery management, modern agricultural industrial park construction, etc., and conducted in-depth exchanges with relevant personnel. In addition to the professional inspection, 19 international students also visited Dafeng Wild Elk Reserve and Anfeng Ancient Town, which is famous for its history and culture, etc., and learned about China’s policies and specific practices in the protection of elk and other wild animals, coastal ecological restoration and protection, and the inheritance of fine culture, and deepened their understanding and love of China.

At the end of the visit, the international students said that the modern fishery development mode and valuable experience of Yancheng City are worthy of reference and learning. Its green fishery development concept and scientific and effective industrial layout provide an important reference direction and demonstration role for the development of aquaculture industry in developing countries.
