On December 7, Xu Pao, Director of FFRC, and Wan Yibing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of FFRC, went to Changshu to attended the symposium on fishery resources monitoring and aquatic wildlife rescue in the Changshu section of the Yangtze River, and participated in the next day’s series of activities at Changshu Xupu Port on aquatic organisms proliferation and releasing, as well as ecological restoration and aquatic wildlife protection in Changshu section of the Yangtze River.
At the symposium, under the background of the ten-year fishing ban in the Yangtze River, the two sides fully exchanged and discussed on the monitoring of aquatic biological resources in Changshu section of the Yangtze River and the evaluation of the fishing ban effects, ecological restoration of the waters, protection and rescue of aquatic wildlife, and the development of ecological fisheries in inland lakes, and reached a consensus on the next step of the continuous and in-depth cooperation between FFRC and Changshu Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
On December 8, Deputy Secretary Wan Yibing attended a series of activities for the proliferation and releasing of aquatic organisms in the Yangtze River in Suzhou City. Deputy Secretary Wan Yibing and Vice Mayor Zhang Yueming of Changshu Municipal People’s Government jointly inaugurated the "Changshu Monitoring Station for Scientific Observation of Fishery Resources and Environment in the Lower Yangtze River"
