On December 19, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Jiangsu Province organized experts to inspect and accept the “Major Project on Aquatic Biological Resources in Jiangsu Province and the First Aquatic Wildlife Resources Census” led by FFRC. The meeting was presided over by Yao Lei, Chief of the Fisheries Division, Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Jiangsu Province. Xu Pao, Director of FFRC, Xu Gangchun, Deputy Director of FFRC, and nearly 60 persons in charge of participating units and technical backbones of each participating unit.
Researcher Xu Pao, the chief expert of the project, reported on the implementation of the project. The project systematically carried out the first large-scale, standardized and specialized aquatic wildlife resources census in Jiangsu Province in the past 40 years. The project completed 1 general report and 3 annual summary reports of aquatic wildlife resources census in Jiangsu Province; formed 1 general list of species and 1 set of primary color atlas; collected and preserved 331 species and more than 3000 specimens; developed 1 set of aquatic wildlife resources information management system in Jiangsu Province, and published 2 monographs.
The participating units of the project respectively submitted project acceptance materials and reported on the project implementation, organization, management, and output, focusing on field surveys, market survey results, and resource information system development.
The acceptance expert group listened to the project implementation report, reviewed the acceptance materials, and unanimously agreed to pass the acceptance after inquiries and discussions.
