Deputy Director Deng Wei of CAFS visited Yangzhong Station of FFRC

On December 21, Deng Wei, Deputy Director of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, Pan Yongping, Vice Chairman of the Labor Union, CAFS, Wang Shulei, Chief, Liu Jianwei, Deputy Chief of the Division of Technical Extension & dissemination, CAFS, Gao Jianfang, Deputy Director of the East China Sea Fishery Research Institute, and Fang Wenhong, Chief of the Division of Technical Extension & dissemination, East China Sea Fishery Research Institute, went to Yangzhong Scientific Research and Experimental Station of FFRC for research and investigation.

Deputy Director Deng Wei and other visitors investigated the construction and operation of the indoor algae cultivation room, compound microbial fermentation workshop and tank land-based facilities for fishery and industrial pond circulating water facilities in Yangzhong Station, and listened to the report on the construction, operation and maintenance of Yangzhong Staion from Director Xu Pao. Yangzhong Scientific Research and Experimental Station was selected as the "National Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Base" in 2020. With the development concept of "ecological protection and green development", it is committed to building a germplasm preservation base for important characteristic aquatic organisms in Yangtze river such as Coilia nasus and Chinese mitten crab.

Deputy Director Deng Wei fully affirmed the positive role played by FFRC in supporting the development of fishery industry by science and technology and serving the development of local fishery economy. He emphasized that it is necessary to give full play to the attributes of public welfare of the scientific research station and strive to build the Yangzhong Station into a comprehensive scientific research station for “aquatic germplasm preservation, fishery science and technology demonstration and a window of the ‘Belt and Road’”.
