During December 13th-14th, “2014 Symposium of Jiangsu Genetics Society” was held in Nanjing Forestry University; it was sponsored by Jiangsu Genetics Society, and organized by Nanjing Forestry University and the Key Laboratory of Crop Genetics and Germplasm Innovation of Nanjing Agricultural University. Deputy Director of Department of Aquatic Genetics and Breeding FFRC and Standing Director of Jiangsu Genetics Society, Dr. Dong Zaijie, with his team members Dr. Wang Lanmei and Dr. Zhu Wenbin, attended the symposium.
The theme of this symposium is "Genetics and Environment". Five experts from Anhui Medical University, Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing Medical University, Yangzhou University and Nanjing Agricultural University were invited and gave keynote reports. During the symposium, participants were divided into two groups for separate reporting respectively on "plant genetics" and "human medicine, animal and microbial genetics". Dr. Wang Lanmei made a report on "Analysis on the cloning, expression and localization of Cherax quadricarinatus maturation promoting factors (MPF)" in her group. The symposium received a total of over 120 papers, and according to the voting attended by all participants, the thesis of Dr. Wang Lanmei won the first prize.
