On November 4, Professor Lin Guanghui, Professor, PhD supervisor, and head of the first-level discipline of ecology at Tsinghua University's Earth System Science Research Center and Institute for Global Change Research, was invited to conduct academic exchanges at the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center.

During this visit, Professor Lin Guanghui made an academic report entitled "Research Progress and Application of Stable Isotope Ecology". The report is centered on "Basic Concepts and Principles of Stable Isotope Technology". It introduces the definition of isotope and related concepts and methods such as common isotope, isotope ratio, and determination in a simple way. It reveals the principle of stable carbon isotope distribution of C3 and C4 in a way of "proposing questions-exploring questions-solving problems". Examples have been used to prove that stable isotope technology has three functions: "very good mark", "strong time-space integration ability" and "very reliable indicating ability". In addition, the case studies of stable isotope ecology are also introduced in detail, such as "Study on Mangrove Wetland Carbon Water Cycle", "Ecological Effects of Spartina alterniflora Invasion", and the Application of Stable Isotope Technology in Food Origin Traceability, Criminal Investigation, Anti-drug, etc.

More than 100 young researchers and graduate students from the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center participated in academic exchanges.
