On September 27th, Mr. Mathias Halwart, Director of the Aquaculture Division, Fisheries and Aquaculture Department, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and Dr. Yuan, Xinhua, senior aquaculture official of FAO, visited FFRC and exchanged views on major action plans aimed at promoting global aquaculture industry development to serve 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2030).

Prof. Xu Pao welcomed the visit of Mr. Mathias Halwart and Dr. Yuan Xinhua, briefed the effort and scientific achievements of FFRC as Inland Fisheries Research and Training Reference Center of FAO,especially the progress in the area of promoting green aquaculture industry, carrying out biological protection of the Yangtze River for aquatic biological genetic resources expansion. Prof. XU Pao also expected to make full advantages of the FAO Reference Center(FFRC) in the future and serve FAO action plan aimed at achieving the goal of eliminating hunger, reducing poverty and achieving food security".

Prof.GeXianping, Deputy Director General of FFRC, Mr. Mathias Halwart, and Dr. Yuan Xinhua attended closing ceremony of the “Freshwater Aquaculture Training Course for Ghana organized by FFRC.
