FFRC assisted China-Arab League international seminar on aquatic technology education and cooperation

On the 14th of March, with the active promotion of the Chinese Consulate General in Alexandria, Prof. Zhu Jian, Associate Prof. Xi Bingwen, accompanied Mr. Zhang Chunlei, secretary of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt,visit Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, and gave a speech at the Arab Leagues International Workshop on Aquaculture Technology and Education providing suggestions for the establishment of the Arab Leagues Fisheries Academy.

 At the workshop, Prof. Zhu Jian was invited to make a report on the scientific achievements, international cooperation and education system of ‘Wuxi Fisheries College of Nanjing Agricultural University’, and made a keynote speech entitled ‘development vision of China's green aquaculture industry’. The speech was highly praised by the participants. Under the specific guidance of the Chinese Consulate General in Alexandria and the business office of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, the experts also discussed the feasibility of building the Arab League Fishery Academy, cooperation direction of joint education of undergraduate and graduate level, cooperation in research, practical aquaculture technology exchange and faculty exchange and training, etc. FFRC and the AASTMT have reached a preliminary agreement in the field of aquatic sciences. It is planned to hold an agreement signing ceremony at the Chinese Embassy in Egypt at the end of this month.

 

This visit not only effectively expand the quality and effectiveness of the Egyptian overseas training project, also implement the spirit of President Xi Jinpings important speech on China-Arab co-construction of the ‘the Belt and Road’ and the ‘China-Arab Cooperation Forum’ further strengthening the relationship between China and the Arab countries.
