July 26 -28, Researcher Ge Xianping, Chief Scientist of the National Conventional Freshwater Fish Industry System and Secretary of the Party Committee of FFRC, went to Yuanyang County, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province to conduct research to serve the county economy and support the industrial development. Researcher Zhu Jian, Chief of the Research Division of FFRC and Post Scientist of the system, and Wang Yunfeng, Director of Yunnan Fisheries Technology Extension Station, participated in the investigation.

Accompanied by leaders at all levels in Yuanyang County and Honghe Prefecture, Chief Scientist Ge Xianping and other members went to Hushan Zhongchuang Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. in Yuanyang County and Dayutang Village, Xinjie Town to investigate the demonstration of land-based ecological container farming and rice-fish-duck integrated farming.

In Hushan Container Industrial Park, 300 land-based ecological aquaculture container have been built. With an annual fish production of 400 tons, the land-based ecological aquaculture container can provide 200 tons of fish fry for rice- fish farming in terraced fields, and build  a “Yuanyang model” of “Container aquaculture platform + Hani terraces”.

In Dayutang Village, Xinjie Town, the research team inspected the construction of the demonstration base for rice-fish- duck integrated farming. The base adopts the “company + cooperative + base + farmer” model, which greatly improves the output efficiency of terraces, increases farmers’ income, and plays a typical demonstration and driving role for targeted poverty alleviation in mountainous areas and rural revitalization.

Afterwards, Chief Scientist Ge Xianping organized and held a meeting for the Conventional Freshwater Fish Industry System to serve the county economy and support the development of “one county, one industry”.
