Recently, Dr. Yuan Xinhua, who was sent to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) by FFRC, was selected as the Deputy Director of FAO’s Fisheries and Aquaculture Division, responsible for global sustainable aquaculture development.

As FAO Reference Centre for aquaculture and inland fishery research and training, FFRC has made full use of rich international cooperation resources since its establishment, strengthened the top-level design of international talent training, built an international talent training platform for the world, and establish a perfect international talent training system. Through a number of international cooperation projects, FFRC has trained more than 220 international talents engaged in domestic fishery scientific research, management departments and enterprises, and successively sent 5 senior management talents to international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the Asian Development Bank, and the Asia-Pacific Aquaculture Center Network.

Today’s world pattern is accelerating evolution, the global governance system has been deeply reformed, the construction of the “Belt and Road” has been deepened, and the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind has taken root in the hearts of the people. As a responsible fishing country, China needs to actively participate in global fishery governance more than ever before, and urgently needs to send more talents to international fishery organizations, provide Chinese solutions, and show China’s strength! Dr. Yuan Xinhua’s new appointment will further help him give full play to his professional expertise and management skills, and contribute Chinese wisdom to the sustainable development and prosperity of world aquaculture on a higher platform!
