On May 13, Wuxi Fisheries College of Nanjing Agriculture University and Suzhou Future Aquafarm signed an agreement on co-construction of employment, entrepreneurship and practice base. Prof. XU Pao, Director General of Freshwater Fisheries Research Center, and Dean of Wuxi Fisheries College, and Director ZHANG Lide of Suzhou Future Aquafarm, represented the two sides to sign an agreement and unveil the plaque for the practice base.

Suzhou Future Aquafarm was founded in 2005. It’s a “Health Aquaculture Demonstration Farm of Ministry of Agriculture”, “Jiangsu Provincial Aquaculture Breeding Farm” and “Jiangsu Characteristic Advantage Seedling Center”. From undertaking relevant assignments related to “Selective breeding of bighead and grass carp new variety” program of the National Conventional Freshwater Fish Industry System, provide seed production practice and training for undergraduates who are majored in aquaculture in Nanjing Agricultural University, to helping FFRC organize site visit for about 2000 participants as “Belt and Road Initiative Fishery International Cooperation and Technology Demonstration & Practice Base”, Suzhou Future Aquafarm establishes a good foundation for cooperation with Wuxi Fisheries College and Freshwater Fishery Research Center.

The co-construction agreement further deepens the cooperation between the two sides, build a solid and superior platform for students of Wuxi Fisheries College, and assist high-quality talents training in aquaculture. At the same time, the co-construction agreement is beneficial to give full play to advantages of both sides, stimulate deep combination of "Industry-university-research-extension", and promote local industry development and rural revitalization.
