Recently, Khun Saveoun, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia, sent a thanks letter to the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences for the organization of the “Training Workshop on Aquatic Resource Management and Aquaculture Advancement for Lancang-Mekong Countries “.

On behalf of the Cambodian government and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Khun Saveoun expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese government for its assistance to Cambodia and other Lancang-Mekong countries, and for bringing new opportunities for the protection of regional fishery ecology and the development of aquaculture industry. He said that 11 Chinese experts overcame various difficulties, organized high-quality lectures, high-level experiments and completed a series of research and investigation in Cambodia, and once again trained 30 senior fishery officials and technicians for the Lancang-Mekong countries. He hoped that the two sides would continue to promote cooperation in capacity building, scientific research projects and academic exchanges between China and Cambodia in the fishery industry under the framework of the joint communiqué between the two governments, and jointly promote the development of regional fisheries towards a “golden future”.

Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences concerned a lot and gave strong support and help to the specific implementation of the training course, which provide a solid backing for the successful completion of the training task of FFRC.
